Milk rice is just a simplified rice pudding and a favorite childhood dessert. I’m writing this down so I won’t forget and because I haven’t found an exact recipe on Pinterest, and I dislike the mess of a website I found a similar recipe on, so here it is:
3/4 Cup White Round Grain Rice
1/2 Cup Water
2 Cups Milk
3 to 4 Tbs. Sugar
1 Tbs. Lemon Zest
In a small sauce pan, cook the rice in water until the water is completely absorbed, add the milk and let it cook completely on low heat, stirring often. Add the sugar and lemon zest, and let it boil for a few minutes.
Serve with cinnamon or lemin zest sprinkled on top.
